Saturday, Jan. 16

A benefit pancake feed and 5K for Deuel County Sheriff Deputy Mike Hutchinson will be held at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds. The pancake feed starts at 7 a.m., followed by a 5K walk at 8 and run at 8:15. Hutchinson was shot several times and seriously injured in the line of duty.

The Panhandle Quilt Guild has changed its meeting time to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16., held at the First Presbyterian Church in Alliance, located at 515 Emerson Ave. Coffee is served at 10 a.m. and visitors are welcome. Jennifer Allen will teach a class on wool applique.

A Sidney High School Choir soup/chili supper fundraising event will be held at the SHS cafeteria/commons area on Saturday, Jan. 16. Please come enjoy a great soup/chili supper during the high school basketball games. Meal includes soup or chili, dessert and drink. Proceeds will help the choir students travel to Los Angeles for a choir competition in May 2016. Your support is greatly appreciated.

The Cheyenne County 4-H market beef weigh-in will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the county fairgrounds.

The annual “Be-My-Valentine” dinner will be held on Sunday, Feb. 14, at the First United Methodist Church in Sidney, in the fellowship hall. There will be two seating times - 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The dinners are open to the public.
