Potter-Dix girls, Peetz boys win in split

Potter-Dix and Peetz split a pair of games on Tuesday, with the Lady Coyotes taking out the Lady Bulldogs in the girls game and Peetz winning over Potter-Dix in the boys game.

Girls basketball

Potter-Dix 64, Peetz 30

Potter-Dix jumped out to a big early lead and rolled to a 64-30 win at Peetz on Tuesday night.

The Lady Coyotes (15-2) went up 17-5 in the first quarter and took a 41-14 lead into halftime. They outscored the Lady Bulldogs (4-13) 23-16 in the second half.

Alexus Rozelle poured in a team-high 19 points to lead Potter-Dix offensively, while Payge Hoffman added 12 points and Trinity Langley chipped in with 11 points. Audrey Juelfs had a double-double the hard way with 10 assists and 10 steals, to go with six points and six rebounds.

For Peetz, Payton Swedlund led the team offensively with 11 points, while Jodie Schumacher added 10 points. Schumacher also led the Lady Bulldogs with nine rebounds.

Potter-Dix wraps up regular season play Friday with a game at Banner County. Peetz continues play Friday with a home game against Caliche.

Boys basketball

Peetz 57, Potter-Dix 46

Peetz took a first quarter lead and went on to defeat Potter-Dix 57-46 on Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs (12-5) took a 17-12 first quarter lead and built a 29-23 halftime advantage. They led 41-34 going into the fourth quarter, when they outscored the visiting Coyotes (6-11) by a 16-12 margin.

Statistics for Peetz were not available at press time.

Cole Christensen led the way with 24 points for Potter-Dix, while Edward Barnes added seven points and Coby Hicks chipped in with six points. Hicks led the team with eight rebounds and Barnes had six.

The Coyotes wrap up regular season play Friday with a game at Banner County. The Bulldogs return to action with a home contest Friday against Caliche.
