Warriors, Coyotes advance in subdistricts

Leyton took the first quarter lead and held off Creek Valley for a 44-35 win in the D1-12 boys basketball subdistrict semifinals on Tuesday night in Bridgeport.

The Warriors (10-8) advance to Thursday's subdistrict finals against Dundy County-Stratton, a 77-40 winner over Morrill, on Tuesday. The loss ends the season for the Storm.

Leyton jumped out to a 16-11 first quarter lead and built a 23-13 advantage at halftime. Creek Valley outscored Leyton by just one point in the second half.
