1920 to 2016

Mildred P. Fredrick, 95 of Sidney, passed away at the SRMC Extended Care, Friday evening, Feb. 26, 2016.

A service of remembrance will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 5, in the Lodgepole Valley Youth Camp. Cremation has been held. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorial contributions, flowers and cards may be sent to the funeral home.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Mildred's care and funeral arrangements.

Mildred Ploma Fredrick, the daughter of David O. and Pearl L. (Crist) Foster, was born on May 13, 1920, at Richland, (Adair County), IA. Mildred loved being with her family and friends. She enjoyed making stained glass, gardening and was an accomplished seamstress. She worked as a waitress and hostess and dedicated much of her time to caregiving and being a companion to the elderly while living in Denver.

Survivors include her children: Orville "Bud" Fredrick and wife Flora Beth of Sidney and Norma Smith of Phoenix, Ariz.; (1) sister: Vivienne Holst and husband Robert of Downey, Calif.; grandchildren: Debra Mollendor and husband Doug of Ovid, Colo., Brenda Dilsaver and husband Mike of Omaha, Daniel Fredrick and wife Donita of Sidney, Paul Smith and wife Dora of Orange Park, Fla. and Rhonda Hancock and husband Allen of Denver; great-grandchildren: Brent Mollendor and wife Kayte, Michael Mollendor, Kurt Dilsaver and wife Tiffany, Alicia Whited and husband Brian, Nathaniel Fredrick, Melissa Fredrick, Zachary Fredrick, Paul Smith Jr, Donnie Smith, Alicia Wilmore, Chelsie Charez, Holly Morelli, Bethany Hancock, Courtney Hancock, Alyssa Hancock, Dane Hancock and Katelyn Hancock; great-grandchildren: Brady and Mallory Mollendor, Addison, Trey and Kenzie Dilsaver, Nathaniel, Luke, Dreyson, Denym and Maddy McCormick, Braydon, Ashton and AdaMae Whited, Alexis Shugart, Arcela Chaves, Carter Giggy, Alexis Herrera, Willow Herrera and Elias Dominguez.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents: David and Pearl Foster; her husband: Gilbert Fredrick; sisters: Cora, Velma and Helen; granddaughter: Michelle Fredrick and great-grandsons: Brandon Mollendor and Adam McCormick.
