Sidney places fourth at district speech contest

Castner moving on to state contest in Kearney


The Sidney High School speech team finished fourth out of eight schools at the Class B-6 Speech Contest held Monday at Gering High School.

The district champion was Gering with 386 points, while the runner-up was Gothenburg with 358 points. Third place went to Ogallala with 330 points, Sidney was fourth with 216 points, and McCook was fifth with 159 points. Next came Chadron with 132 points, Cozad with 85 points and Alliance with 75 points.
