Red Raiders set pace during indoor meet at Chadron State

Sidney athletes won 11 events, the most of any school, at the Chadron State College High School Indoor Track and Field Meet held Saturday.

But with approximately 500 athletes, and more than 800 entries, in the competition, there were winners from eight different schools.

Two seniors were double winners among the girls. For the second straight year, Bayard senior Jessi Smith won both the 55-meter hurdles and the 800 meters.  Calbi Ausmann of Newcastle, Wyo., also won two events, the 400 and 1600. Both have been gold medal winners at their state meets.
