One last winter blast closes out April

The month of April went out with one last wintry storm last weekend as Cheyenne County experienced several inches of snow beginning Friday afternoon and continuing all day Saturday.

The National Weather Service reported the county saw between four to eight inches of snow, with the northern parts receiving the heaviest amount. Snow depth was kept to a minimum for the most part, especially in urban locations with a lot of vehicle and foot traffic, but snowfall was heavy enough to down tree branches throughout the area.

The coming days should be warmer and more in line with the spring season, with temperatures reaches the mid- to high 70s Tuesday and Wednesday, and possibly the low 80s by Thursday.
