The Sidney Fire Department was called when a blue Ford 4x4 struck a gas meter Wednesday. According to an email sent to parents Wednesday, the incident happened around 12:20p.m., approximately 30 yards north east of West Elementary. Students and staff were evacuated to the practice field south of the building. The building was deemed safe and classes resumed at approximantly12:50 p.m. Black Hills Energy was contacted and the meter has been fixed.
