B.J. Wilkinson, Cabela's Gun Library Manager and Brian Hahle, Pleasant Valley Fish Farms, tag various types of fish redeemable for Cabela's gift cards, for Kid's Fishing Day held in Legion Park Saturday, June 11.

Legion Park pond is officially stocked with 460 fish for Saturday's Kid fishing day sponsored by Cabela's.

Brian Hahle was on site from Pleasant Valley Fish farms. Hahle said Pleasant Valley has delivered fish for the Fishing day for more then 35 years.

"We stocked the pond with a little bit of everything," Hahle said, "Rainbow trout, Crappie, Large Mouth Bass, Channel Catfish and Blue Gill."

In the past, horse troughs where used for younger participants, this year all ages will be fishing in the park pond.

Experienced instructors will help educate kids about casting, untangling fishing line and putting bait on the hook.

Cabela's Human Resource Specialist Kay Atteberry helped with the pond stocking Wednesday, she said "Bait will be provided, about 800 worms were delivered this morning."

As part of the pond stocking, various fish were tagged with different colored tags, each tag redeemable for a Cabela's gift card. According to Atteberry there were four yellow tags worth $25, two green tags worth $50 and one red tag redeemable for a $100 gift card.

After the Kids fishing event, if the tags remained unclaimed customers can come into Cabela's throughout the summer, with a tagged fish to receive a gift card.

The Sidney Elks Lodge will be on site to grill hotdogs for the participants, and a raffle will be held through out the day giving away various prizes.

Kids Fishing Day is set to be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Sidney's Legion park pond children ages 16 and younger are invited to this free event.
