Cheyenne County 4-H'ers attend 4-H Leadership Camp

The Nebraska Extension Panhandle District held their kick-off event for the new leadership program Leadership Opportunities for Growth in Nebraska 4-H (LOG N 4-H) on May 25 and 26 at the State 4-H Camp in Halsey.

Twenty-two students from across the panhandle attended the two day camp that focused on the "7 Habits for Highly Effective Teens;" self-confidence challenges, such as the zip-line and mission statement development; and team building activities, including the T.R.U.S.T. course, canoeing, and program goal setting.

The county groups will continue to meet to work on local projects and continue developing leadership skills throughout the year. Youth will also be involved in a community service project, help in delivering workshops, expand their project portfolio at the county fair, and explore career opportunities.

Attending from Cheyenne County were Arya Eledath, Toni Heitt, and Peyton Lewis.

Other 4-H'ers attending the camp included Haddie Grubbs from Banner County; Sophie Jordan, Fletcher Larsen, and Calvin Stoeger from Cherry County; Jayden Gremm from Dawes County; Ryan Cheleen, Rhett Dykstra, Catie Koenen, Mariah Koenen, and Emma Schneider from Deuel County; Kara Barnhart, Madeline Leach, Lina Van Wey, Kelsee Moffat, and Adrienne Olson from Garden County; Kylie Licking from Hooker County; Kenna Krahulik and Jade Bergman from Scotts Bluff County; and Hannah Wohl from Sheridan County.
