City council approves rebate program

With one change to the overall program, Sidney’s City Council this week approved an energy savings program that will provide rebates to city electrical customers.

Sidney City Manager Ed Sadler presented the program to council at its final June meeting Tuesday. In his program summary, Sadler expressed that with there is little electrical systems and COOP’s can do to affect prices charged for electricity. Sadler’s presentation stated that such providers are subject to large electrical company’s rates.
