City Council meets new assistant city manager, quickly dispatches business


New Assistant City Manger Dawn Martin was introduced to the Sidney City Concil at its first regular June meeting Tuesday evening before quickly dispatching a short, routine agenda.

Martin, who who worked as an environmental assistance coordinator with the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) in Lincoln, began her sting as assistant city manager last week.

During the public comments portion of the meeting, council members heard from two Sidney citizens who gave opposing opinions on the city's electric rebate program, approved by council at its last meeting. Pat Finney express...
