Fog seal applications affect access around courthouse

Fog sealing Jackson Street from 5th to 19th Ave., begins on Monday, Aug. 29. Parking will be very limited around the Cheyenne Courthouse due to the procedure. All doors of the courthouse will be open during the time that Jackson Street is barricaded for street work.

The city began cleaning the streets on Thursday and will continue today and Monday.

Residents are asked to remove vehicles along the route. The city also asks that no water be allowed to run in the gutter on Monday, Aug. 29. All vehicles and trailers will need to be removed by 7a.m. on Monday to avoid being towed at the owner’s expense.

Jackson Street from 5th Ave to 19th Ave will blocked off during this road work and it is expected to last two to four hours for curing. Drivers are asked to refrain from going around barricades to access the street.

Courthouse officials said it is important to consider roadwork and parking when remembering that the second half of 2015 real estate and personal taxes become delinquent Sept. 1. Interest will be charged on Sept. 1.
