Elvis impersonator Joseph Hall will bring his tribute show to the Sidney Elks Lodge in September as part of a fundraiser for Elks' veterans programs. The show, during Patriotism Week, will be the day before the anniversary of 9/11.
Veterans and an organization working on their behalf will benefit from a show featuring one of the nation's top Elvis Presley impersonators.
Joseph Hall, from Branson, Missouri, was a top 10 finalist on America's Got Talent and in 2014 was named Branson male entertainer of the year and had the Branson tribute show of the year.
He brings his Elvis Rock 'N' Remember Tribute to the stage at the Sidney Elk's Lodge #1895 Saturday, Sept. 10 for a the Elks Tribute to Veterans.
The show is part of Patriotism Week, and one of the Elks' fundraising efforts as it provides services for veterans.
Event organizer Anita Pennel said a good portion of the proceeds will go to help the Elks Foundation, which funds functions the Elks perform locally and at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Scottsbluff. Another portion will fill a need at the Elks Lodge, repair to the HVAC system.
Pennell said the Elks outreach programs include an "Adopt-A-Vet" program, where veterans receive visits, as well as birthday and Christmas cards, and are treated to picnics. Elks also supports a scholarship program for local high school students.
"All of the money we make goes back into the community," Pennel said of the programs the Elks supports.
Pennell said in preparation for the show, Elks is seeking sponsors to assist veterans with the admission price, to allow them a reduced price if possible. So far three Sidney befactors have stepped forward - the American Legion, J&J Steamway and American Bank - to assist. Pennell said they hope additional sponsors will step forward to help with veteran admission.
V.I.P. tickets for the show are $25, with general admission at $20. The V.I.P. ticket allows for early entry into the Elks, where those attendees will receive hors d'oeuvres and have preferred seating. The show begins at 7 p.m.
