Marilyn L. Booth was born on her grandfather George Kretz' place on February 26, 1933 to Fred and Opal (Maley) Kretz. The family moved to Sidney for awhile, and then to a farm west of Sidney that is now the site of Dinklage Feed Lot.

In November of 1941, when Marilyn was in the third grade, Marilyn, her mother, and her three sisters moved to Sidney. There she attended schools at Francis Willard, the old junior high and the old high school. All of these buildings were razed. The only school building still standing is District 36 where Marilyn started school.

After graduating from high school in 1950, Marilyn was employed at the American National Bank in Sidney. She worked there for 38 years full time and two years part time.

Marilyn dated Corky Booth all through high school and they were united in marriage on February 17, 1962 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They spent their life on the farm and ranch at Sunol.

Marilyn bowled for a few years and was also an avid reader.

She would like to note how blessed she was to have all the friends and neighbors who looked after her in later years.

Marilyn is survived by a brother-in-law Lavane Ellsworth of Portland, OR; five nieces: Kathleen Olsen and Karma Denton both of Medford, OR, Kristie Olsen and Denise Groskopf both of Portland, OR and Becky Bowser of Crown Point, IN; and two nephews Kevin Ellsworth of Portland, OR and David Groskopf of Vancouver, WA

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Opal Kretz, her husband of 48 years Firth Booth (Corky) and her three sisters: Lorene, Margie and Miriam.

Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Sidney is serving the Booth family.
