City saves money on upcoming project

City Council met Tuesday for its bimonthly meeting in Sidney dispatching busines with Councilman Joe Arterburn being excused.

Council has saved the city $100,000 with the upcoming construction on a pipeline project with Paul Reed Construction and Diamondback Engineering to replace current water pipeline along link 17 J with 16-inch water pipe.

Council members had previously tabled a bid from Diamondback Engineering, opening up the opportunity for new bids. Diamondback engineering came back to council with a new bid $100,000 less than previously bid.
