WIFE holds 40th annual convention this week

Women Involved in Farm Economics (WIFE) will be coming to Sidney this week for the 40th Anniversary Convention “Out West – Where WIFE Began.” Meetings will be held at the Cabela’s Retail Store Meeting Room on November 3-5.

A group of Sidney farm women were responsible for the formation of WIFE in December of 1976.

WIFE is a grassroots organization for women promoting prosperity in agriculture through educational, cooperative and legislative methods.

WIFE members will elect officers, conduct WIFE business, establish policy and determine priorities. They will also take time to educate themselves on issues and topics related to agriculture.

On Friday at 9:30, a.m. John Hansen, President of the Nebraska Farmers Union will highlight legislative challenges facing agriculture today. Hansen will start WIFE on the process of determining strategies for 2017 and developing policy priorities.

Saturday morning will bring talks from two outstanding speakers.
