Sidney's Abbey Mills picks up a spike Tuesday in sub-district volleyball action. The Lady Raiders won the sub-district and host Omaha Roncalli Saturday to see who goes to state.
Sidney's volleyball team made it one step closer to a possible berth in the Nebraska State High School Volleball Tournament, notching wins over Scottsbluff and Alliance in sub-district action at the Cabela's Athletic Center Tuesday.
Sidney dispatched Scottsbluff with a controlling game, defeating the Lady Bearcats in straight sets, 25-11, 25-4, 25-8.
A playoff between Gering and Alliance was the night's second match, to see which team would meet the Lady Raiders in the final. Alliance fought off Gering in straight sets, 25-23, 25-14, 25-18 to advance.
