Voter turn out at a high for general election

This election had no shortage of controversy, with voters drawing a clear line in the sand, voter turnout was higher then it has been in the past.

In the last general election in 2014, there were 6,989 registered voters, with only 2,914 turning out to cast their votes. Compared to this years voting statistics with a smaller number of registered voters at 6,919, and nearly double the turn out at the polls, with 4,704 constituents casting their votes.

“Voter turnout was a lot higher,” Cheyenne County Clerk Beth Fiegenschuh said.
