Sidney Public Schools (SPS) Board met to conduct new year business in Monday’s regular board meeting.
The SPS Board welcomed Dr. Brandon Brown as the newest member of the board. Brown was elected to the board in the 2016 election; he took the place of prior board member Randy Miller.
Outside of the school board role, Brown is a Family Medicine Physician at Sidney Regional Medical Center, with special interests in Sports Medicine and Obstetrics.
“I am an avid sports fanatic and either participate or watch pretty much any sport,” Brown said.
Brown joins existing board members Tom Von Seggern, Steve Mattoon, Randy Flamig, Doug Means, and Brenda Smith.
In new year business, Von Seggern was nominated and appointed as the president of the board. Von Seggern has been a member of the SPS School Board since 2006, he has held the position of Board President for more then 3 years.
Doug Means was appointed vice president with Secretary Deanna Kantor, and Treasurer Geri Anthony.
Superintendent Jay Ehler was designated as the official district representative for all local, state and federal programs.
