Donna J. Rohde - Obituary

Long-time Fountain resident Donna J. Rohde passed away quietly February 23, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

Donna was born November 11, 1940 in Sidney, Nebraska to Leona (Loebe) and Everett Shelley. She spent most of her early life in Sidney until she met the love of her life, Larry Rohde. They married January 27, 1962.

Becoming a military wife, she traveled to many states in the U.S. She was a long-time cook on Patrick AFB in Florida and at the NCO club on Peterson AFB in Colorado.

After retiring, she took on the role of just being a grandma, following her favorite football team, the Broncos, and traveling to visit her sisters. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and she was the strongest woman her children and grandkids ever knew.

Donna is survived by two sons, Steve Rohde, Georgia, and Stacey Rohde of Colorado; a daughter, Sherri (Rohde) Burton, both of Colorado; grandsons Michael Rohde, Jon (Natalie Reichman) Rohde, Jason Rohde and Justin Burton; great-grandkids Karson Rohde, Madison Rohde, and Hunter Rohde; sisters Geraldine Banks, Oklahoma, Judy Krueger, Nebraska, Pat Simpson, Wyoming, Jean Madden, Nevada, and Linda Brumley, Nevada; brothers Dean Shelley, Oregon, and Jim Shelley, Oklahoma, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sisters, Clara Ann Glover and Connie Hunsicker, and her brothers, John Shelley, Bobby Joe Shelley, and Dennis Shelley.

Services will be announced at a later date.
