Bids out for city weed control

The City of Sidney has sent out bids for its weed control services.

The action will save the city both money and resources, Ed Sadler, Sidney city manager, said.

“I was curious as to whether we could find a better way to do it,” Sadler said. “We did some initial checking with some of the landscaping companies and at least the initial prices they gave us said they can buy the chemicals so much cheaper, for fertilizing and weed killing. They can do it with labor included for less than we spend on the chemicals alone.”
