Ned Rowan

Ned Rowan, age 75 of Acton, CA., formerly of Gurley, NE died May 13 after a short battle of pancreatic cancer. Ned, the son of Arthur & Etta (Christensen) Rowan, was born July 8, 1941 in the Dalton hospital. He attended country school district #51 through the 6th grade and then enrolled in the Gurley School graduating with the class of 1959. He attended an automotive mechanics school and helped his dad on the farm. In 1962 Ned enlisted in the United States Air Force serving 4 years. After being discharged from the Air Force he was employed by Lockheed Martin retiring in 1997.

Ned married Pat (Felt) Higgins in 1972. Ned & Pat were a busy couple caring and loving Pats seven children. Pat died October 7, 1993. She was survived by her husband Ned - children - Larry, Casey, Pat Debbie, Tobey, Judy, and Anita.

In 2002 Ned married Glenda Fary. They enjoyed their summers at Big Bear Lake - fishing on his pontoon with Glenda's children Chris, (Danielle) and Amber (David).

Ned requested that he be cremated and there would be no services. Ned is survived by his wife Glenda. Children - Larry (Maria) Higgins, Casey Higgins, Pat Higgins, Debbie (Phil) Garcia, Tobey Moat, Anita (Harry) Reynolds, Chris (Danielle) Fary, Amber (David) Smith. Brothers - Dan (Marilee) Rowan of Gurley, and Timothy (Jo) Rowan of Columbus, NE; 19 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
