Sesquicentennial will close 10th, Jackson

The Sinful Sidney Sesquicentennial event will close 10th Avenue and Jackson Street Aug. 18 and Aug. 19.

Illinois Street from 19th Avenue to the Quad Graphics parking lot will be closed Aug. 19 from 8 a.m. for a 5K Walk/Run through 1 p.m. for a parade. This means 13th Avenue will be closed.

A final planning meeting was held Tuesday at Sidney City Hall. The event’s organizers, Cheyenne County Area Chamber of Commerce, are using city resources to provide electricity and crowd safety for the day’s activities.
