Dalton man injured at Leyton School

A volunteer helping install the new scoreboard at the Leyton Schools football field was injured Tuesday when his hand was caught by an auger.

Ryan Borges, of Dalton, was helping set the new scoreboard, digging holes for the i-beam supports Tuesday evening. The first hole was dug without incident. The second, however, caught his hand between the auger and the dirt. The auger broke a bone in his hand, tore a muscle and made a large laceration.
