Peetz tramples Weldon Valley 74-27

The Peetz Bulldogs hosted the Weldon Valley Warriors in football action Friday, sending the Warriors home with a sound 74-27 defeat.

The Bulldogs made their intentions clear from the start with a 36-point first quarter while keeping the Warrirors off of the scoreboard. Peetz continued their streak in the second quarter with 12 more points while alowing Weldon Valley to earn their first seven of the game.The teams came back from halftime for Peetz’ Bulldogs to earn 20 more and Weldon Valley to earn 14. The fourth quarter was even with each team earning six points.

Penalties were nearly even for the two teams. Weldon Valley was penalized three times and Peetz four for 25 years each.

Cooper White led the Bulldogs offensively with 242 yards; 92 rushing, 144 yards in kick returns and six punt returns for 150 yards, finishing the gamd with 18 points. He also had six tackles and two interceptions. Senior jake Curlee, senior Logan Sircy and junior Zachary Holtz each earned 12 points offensively.

Zachary Holtz, junior, was also four for four with point-after attempts.

The Bulldogs had 622 all-purpose yards. Following White’s 242 are Jake Curlee with 95, Logan Sircy with 89 yards receiving, Charles Fehringer with 59 and junior Xavier Runge with 53 yards receiving.

As a team, Peetz had 63 tackles against Weldon Valley. Senior Helmuth Wenneker had nine solo tackles and two assists for 11 tackles. Charles Fehrinfer and Cooper White had five solo tackles.

The Bulldogs take on the Eads Eagles 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct.28. in Eads The Eagles have split their season so far with a 4-4 record and Peetz is 6-1.
