Potter-Dix ends regular season defeating Morrill

The Potter-Dix Coyotes defeated the Morrill Lions in four sets Thursday, 3-1.

Morrill narrowly took the first set 25-22 before Potter-Dix easily won sets two and three 25-11 and 25-13 and the fourth in close play 25-21.

The Coyotes had 40 kills from 124 attempts. Senior Trinity Langley led the effort with 19 kills, followed by senior Payge Hoffman with 11. Senior Audrey Juelfs had nine and freshman Kelsey Hoffman had one.

The team also served three aces from 96 serve-attempts. Junior Brooke Moench had two aces and freshman Kelsey Hoffman had one. The Coyotes recorded eight blocks, all solo, in the four games; Senior Trinity Langley had six and Hoffman had two.

The Coyotes had 73 digs with four errors. Payge Hoffman had 16, Trinity Langley 15, Kelsey Hoffman 13, Audrey Juelfs and Brooke Moench 10 each, Ciera George eight and Erica Bogert one.

Potter-Dix then played the winner of the Banner-County and Minatare match Monday in D2-12 subdistrict play. Potter-Dix leads the D2-12 volleyball standings with a 7-1 record. Leyton comes in second at 6-1 and Creek Valley is 5-2.
