Hyannis ends Potter-Dix volleyball season 3-0

The Potter-Dix Coyotes volleyball season came to an end Thursday when Hyannis defeated them 3-0.

The Coyotes had just defeat Creek Valley Tuesday, Oct. 31 in a hard-fought five-set match to meet Hyannis the following Thursday in the next level of playoffs. Hyannis defeated Potter-Dix 25-23, 25-21 and 25-21.

“The girls played well versus a tough 27-1 Hyannis squad said Potter-Dix coach Brad Hicks.

Potter-Dix’ seniors lead the squad with Trinity Langley credited for nine kills and 10 blocks. Audrey Juelfs had eight kills, 22 serve receptions and two serve aces. She also served 100 percent during the three matches. Brook Moench had 19 assists, and a serve ace while serving 100 percent. Makayla Merz was in her first start of the season against Hyannis. She had four assists and 12 digs. Kelsey Hoffman lead the team in blocks with 13, and three kills.

The Coyotes finished the season 23-10 overall, 9-1 in district play, 14-5 at home and 7-3 on the road.

The team played 91 sets during the season, recorded 771 kills of 2,589 attempts, 209 serve aces and a 91 percent serve percentage, 242 solo blocks, 84 block assists, 2,242 digs.
