Dairy Queen and the Packers donated $400 in support of the Shop with a Cop program. The support is the result of an event at Dairy Queen and a matching commitment by the managers. In addition to the fund support, Dairy Queen will be presenting each participant in Shop with a Cop a gift certificate and lunch.
They're seen patrolling the streets, meeting with people in their worst of moments, sometimes uncomfortably sometimes as the knight in moments of stress.
The "Shop with a Cop" program is designed to bridge the gap between the Sidney community and the police department.
Living paycheck to paycheck, sometimes stretching that last dollar to its breaking point, is seldom fun, and even stressing when it occurs in the holiday season. There are families in Sidney and communities like it that likely are quietly wishing for a way to offer their son or daughter some type of Christmas gift.
