Johnson Commits to USD

Sidney sophomore Mattie Johnson has given her verbal intent to attend and play volleyball for the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.

Johnson a six-foot hitter for Sidney High School gave verbal commitment on November 13th to accept a Division 1 volleyball scholarship.

Johnson became interested in the school in part because it is a smaller school, "and she likes the coaches and new facility," said her mother, Anne Johnson.

At Sidney High this past season, Johnson was team captain and through the season had 298 kills with 46 aces, 86 blocks, and 377 Digs.
