Kenneth Casey Nichols - Obituary

Kenneth Casey Nichols, of Creede, CO, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the age of 65.

Casey was born to parents Henry and Gaynell Nichols on October 1, 1952 in Flagler, CO. He was the youngest of three and attended Peetz High School. After spending one year in Northeastern Junior College, Casey decided to join the Navy and spent four years perfecting his welding skills as a Hull Technician stationed on a Submarine Tender in Pearl Harbor, HI. He had made the rank of 2nd Class Petty Officer when he got out of the Navy.

He was a man who enjoyed working with his hands and spent his adult life working as a welder and did maintenance work for the Creede Repertory Theater and the Creede Community Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent countless hours rock hounding and arrow head hunting. Casey was described by his friends as a kind, caring man with a huge heart always willing to help anyone.

Casey was preceded by his mother, Gaynell Nichols and step mother Joy Nichols.

He is survived by his father, Henry Nichols, his three children, Brittany Lynn Kamruddin (Spouse Javed), Tiffany Marie Everett (Spouse John), Brandon Kyle Nichols (Spouse Kelley). His three sisters, Becky Nichols, Ruth Talbott, and Robin Hilsabeck. His two brothers, Terry Wetherill and Mark Wetherill and one grandchild Kyla Everett.

Cremation was chosen. The family will have a private burial ceremony at a later time.
