Sidney's Colton Peckham had a good weekend for the Raider wrestling team, defeating his opponent in a dual with Valentine, followed by a second place finish at the Ainsworth Invite.
Sidney's wrestlers faced one of their toughest challenges of the year, twice in as many days, over the weekend.
Defending Class C State champion Valentine showed why they're at the top of their class and gave the Raiders all they could handle Friday, taking a 40-29 dual win. Three Sidney wrestlers, Hayden Hofrock, Colton Peckham and Kaden Vowers defeated opponents on the mat, while two others collected forfeit points for Sidney scoring.
But the Raiders showed they were still game the following day, challenging Valentine for the team title at the Ainsworth invite.
