Volleyballers Spike Competition

The Sidney Volleyball Clubs 12U team won gold on Sunday.

Coach Lu Howard and the Sidney Volleyball Club played host on Sunday to their second tournament where club teams from the region competed in the 12 and Under divison and the 14 and Under division. At the end of the tournament, the Sidney Volleyball Club's 12U and 14U teams earned gold medals by besting teams from Chadron, Bridgeport, Scottsbluff, Ravenna, Julesburg CO, and Burns, Wyo.

The Sidney Volleyball Club 14U team won gold by defeating Ravenna on Sunday.

Both teams played very well, showing teamwork and proper technique they've learned during their practices with Coach Howard and her assistants. The 12U team took the gold after pool play against Chadron, Scottsbluff, Bridgport, and Burns, Wyo. The 14U girls won their gold after beating the Ravenna 13U squad in the championship game. The other teams competing in that division were Julesburg CO and Bridgeport.

The Sidney Volleyball Club will finish their club season at the Amateur Athletic Union's (AAU) Grand Prix in Casper, Wyo April 28-29. The winners of their division get free entry to the AAU Championships.
