Sidney Community Recognizes Fallen Heroes

The Memorial Day service in Sidney was well-attended Monday. Following the service, many people took the opportunity to view markers of friends and family.

The hillside grasses were green of a mid-spring day, accented by seemingly appropriate overcast sky and the numerous markers.

The Sidney community took time from the holiday weekend to remember those who have gone on, specifically those in military service who gave the ultimate sacrifice. The event was well-attended by family, friends and community members remembering the sacrifices made.

The service started with  Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Commander John Schaffner welcoming the community, followed by the opening prayer by Holy Trinity Lutheran Pastor David Hall. The National Anthem...
