Husker Nation Tour Coming to Panhandle

The 2018 Husker Nation Tour sponsored by First National Bank is scheduled to stop in Scottsbluff, Alliance, and Ogalalla on Monday, June 11.

The Husker Nation Tour is an opportunity for fans to meet and talk with the coaching staff to preview the upcoming season for Nebraska Football. The events are for fans of all ages and are free of charge.

On June 11, Head Coach Scott Frost, Athletic Direct Bill Moos, and Associate Athletic Director Matt Davison will be in Scottsbluff at the Gering Civic Center between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m., then up to Alliance between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. at Newberry's.

Nebraska Defensive Coordinator Erik Chinander and Senior Offensive Analyst Frank Verducci will be in Ogalalla between 5 and 7:30 p.m. at the Open Range Grill.

These events are great opportunities to meet the coaches and learn what's in store for the upcoming Nebraska Football season, as well as to learn about the changes and goals of the program staffed with new personnel.

Head Coach Scott Frost returns to Nebraska where he was a standout player in the mid-1990's and then went on to play for the NFL for six seasons. He then began a successful coaching career, quickly moving up the ranks and becoming the Head Coach for the University of Central Florida.

In his two-year tenure, UCF went from a 0-12 record to a 6-7 record in Frost's first year, earning a bowl game for the program. In the next season, UCF went 13-0, defeating Auburn in the Peach Bowl to complete their season as the nation's only undefeated team. His efforts earned him seven different 2017 Coach of the Year awards.

Davison will serve as Associate Athletic Director, and is fully involved with transforming the roster and getting players that are a right fit for Nebraska. He will work directly with Athletic Director Bill Moos as they rebuild the program.

Erik Chinander and Frank Verducci will be in Ogallala, and will be able to talk in great detail about the plans for the defensive unit and changes to the offense and the way Nebraska manages their talent and the challenges of the upcoming season.
