Glenda L. Schilling - Obituary

Glenda L. Schilling of Sidney, NE passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 peacefully at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 22nd in the First Christian Church in Sidney with Pastor Pete Morgan and Reverend Curtiss P. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Friday from 1-7:00 P.M. with family present from 4-6:00. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Glenda's care and funeral arrangements.

Glenda Lee (Reutzel) Schilling, the daughter of Paul and Ethel Marie (Widstrand) Reutzel, was born on August 31, 1941 in Sidney, NE and graduated from Sidney High School.

On October 12, 1958 she married Jack Schilling and celebrated 60 years of marriage together. Glenda started working at age 15 as a candy striper at the hospital in Sidney and continued working at several stores in the area including Jack and Jill, Cabela's Distribution Center, and also Sonny's grocery store. When she broke her leg in 2012 she ended her working career.

She was a loving and loyal daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Glenda is survived by her husband Jack of Sidney, son Mike Schilling and wife Bev of Lexington, NE, and daughter Sherrie Busse and husband Tom of Rosemount, MN, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Ethel; and an infant daughter Kristy Schilling.
