Leyton/Banner, Potter-Dix Football Results

Both the Leyton/Banner County and Potter-Dix football teams lost lopsided games on Friday night, continuing a rough stretch of games for both programs.

The Leyton/Banner County squad faced the visiting Garden County Eagles, and quickly fell behind ending the first quarter with a 24-to-0 deficit.

The Eagles then continued to have their way against the home team, shutting out the Warriors until the fourth quarter when Leyton/Banner County was finally able to score a touchdown, ending the game on the losing side of a 60-to-6 final score, keeping the Warriors winless on the season. Leyton/Banner County next travels to Wallace on Friday night in search of their first win.

Potter-Dix traveled to Hyannis to face the Longhorns on their Homecoming weekend, and had no answers for the home team’s high-powered offense, getting outscored 62-to-0 in the first quarter.

In a mercy-rule shortened contest, the Longhorns were able to rack up 91 points against the Coyotes 14, sending Potter-Dix down to a defeat that moved their record to 1-and-3 on the season.

Potter-Dix hosts the Creek Valley Storm on Friday, a team that is coming into the contest riding a two game winning streak and looking to build momentum and a winning season for the first time in many years.
