Peetz Defeats Weldon Valley

Peetz finished its’ regular season schedule strong with a 46-to-12 victory on the road against the Weldon Valley Warriors. Peetz senior Bryson Long had seven carries for 119 yard and 4 touchdowns and junior Cooper White had four carries for 43 yards and a touchdown in the victory. Long and senior Jakob Kurz both had interceptions, with Long’s interception returned for a touchdown as the defense shut down the Warriors for most of the game.

Peetz head coach Scott Sorensen was pleased with the effort, saying, “This was a good end to our regular season. We can now look forward to a little extra time to get ready for the post-season.”

Potter-Dix Falls to Arthur County

Potter-Dix’s Coyotes ended their season on the road against the Arthur County Wolves, and came up on the wrong end of a 61-to-16 score. The Wolves scored early and often, never giving the Coyotes an opportunity to make the game competitive. The Coyotes were victimized by six fumbles and an interception in the loss, ending their 2018 campaign with a 1-and-7 record.

Leyton/Banner County Ends Season with Loss

The Leyton/Banner County Warriors ended their season at home with a loss to the Wauneta-Palisade Broncos by a final score of 60-to-24. The injured and young Warriors struggled to stay competitive in the game, but were unable to secure their first win of the season against the Broncos. The defense did an admiral job limiting the visitors to only 318 total yards, but the Warriors offense was unable to score consistently enough to keep up with visiting Broncos.

Creek Valley Qualifies for Playoffs

Creek Valley’s Storm football team gets to play another week as they qualified for the playoffs despite a loss on the road against the Minatare Indians. The Indians took control of the game from the start, outscoring the Storm 60-to-14 in the first half, more than enough to earn the win with a 74-to-34 final score. Junior Patrick Hansen completed 15 of 27 passes for 221 yards and three touchdowns while sophomore Justin Ningen had nine carries for 69 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

Head coach Joe Kupper and his team travel to Wilcox on Friday to face the Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons in the first round of the class D6 playoffs.
