Burke Radcliffe: 2-yr City Council

Series: Local Candidates | Story 3

Why did you choose to run for office? I felt like it was time to serve my community. I hope to be part of the solution of helping Sidney rebound from the negative things that have happened to the residents of this community over the last few years.

What skills do you have that you will bring to the office? I've spent the last 24 years in three different businesses in Sidney. I've had experience in manufacturing, retail and health care. The bulk of that time was spent in the Accounting and Finance areas. I have also raised a couple of kids. I feel like I have the experience and the skills to help continue to make Sidney and great place to live and raise a family.

What do you hope to accomplish if elected? Economic Development. Getting employers to bring jobs to Sidney so that those who want to live here can stay is priority No. 1.

What are some challenges you hope to overcome? See previous answer. I'm sure that it won't be easy but I'm ready and willing to give it a shot.

What are the most important issues to be addressed by your office? Economic Development and, if necessary, right sizing the City's budget to reflect the recent changes in the community.
