Leyton’s Warrior basketball team came up short in Friday night’s home game against South Platte. The Warriors started strong, outscoring the Blue Knights 15-to-9 in the first quarter, but South Platte turned the tables and outscored Leyton 19-to-9 in the second quarter to take a 28-to-24 halftime lead. South Platte was able to pull away and seal the game with a 20-to-10 fourth quarter that resulted in a 54-to-43 defeat for Leyton. Leyton sophomore Zach Henke led the Warrior’s scoring with 14 points.
