Sharifpour Arraignment

Shirrin Sharifpour, 39 of Kimball, appeared for Arraignment in Kimball County District Court before the Honorable Derek Weimer on charges of Attempted Murder (class II felony), 1st Degree Assault (class II felony), 2nd Degree Assault ( class IIA felony) and Tampering with Physical Evidence (class IV felony).

The parties jointly stipulated to Exhibit 1, a competency evaluation report. After the parties addressed the court, the judge determined that Shirrin Sharifpour is mentally incompetent to stand trial and that there is a substantial probability that she will become competent within the foreseeable future.

Accordingly, Shirrin Sharifpour was committed to the Lincoln Regional Center or other state hospital for the mentally ill or some other appropriate state facility for appropriate treatment.

A review hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 5, 2019 at 2:30 p.m.

She was arrested Oct. 4, 2018 and taken into custody on charges of Attempted Murder in the First Degree, First Dfegree Assault, Criminal Attempt of a Class 12 Felony and Tampering with Physical Evidence. The arrest is related to an assault with a BB gun at the Kimball Motel.
