Instructor Chris Gay reviews shots and scoring with young 4-H archer Jacob Lofton during competition last summer. The program is getting ready to gear up again, offering several disciplines for young people.

What do breaking clays, punching paper, flinging arrows and counting X's have in common with the 4-H program? All are part of the 4-H Shooting Sports project. Safety first - but lots of fun!

The Shooting Sports project is for 4-H members ages 8 – 18. Members learn safe gun handling skills and sound fundamentals of shooting while under the guidance of caring and knowledgeable adult volunteers.
