Porter Earns All-Centennial Honors at Johns Hopkins

Sidney native Mitch Porter is continuing his athletic success while in his freshman year at John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md. Porter was named All-Centennial Conference First Team for the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays Track & Field team.

At the Centennial Conference Championships held February 23-24, Porter won the heptathlon with 4,195 total points as he won the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.56 and won the high jump at 1.94 meters. He finished second in the 60 meter hurdles, long jump, and shot put, and he finished fourth in the 1000 meters and pole vault.

Porter is in his first year at Johns Hopkins and is a Global Environmental Change and Sustainability major with a minor in Biology.
