Creek Valley Hosts Storm Twilight

Creek Valley High School played host to the annual Storm Twilight track meet Monday, and area teams competed in nearly perfect weather conditions as the late afternoon turned into evening. For the boys, Perkins County took top honors with 150 points while Creek Valley led the local teams with 52 points for a fourth place finish. For the girls, Sioux County placed first with 131 points, while Sidney's junior varsity squad led the locals with 40.5 points for a fifth place finish.

Individually, Creek Valley junior won the Triple Jump with a distance of 39' 08", while senior Garret Sawyer earned points with a second place finish in the 200 meters and a third place finish in the 100 meters. Creek Valley freshman Lucas Trujillo placed third in the 400 meters, and the the Storm 4x100 and 4x800 relay teams both placed third to round out the Storm's scoring. Sidney freshman Daniel Bashtovoi took second place in both the 800 and 3200 meters, and junior Logan Wamsley placed fourth in the Pole Vault to lead the Red Raiders.

Leyton sophomore Dominick Russ placed second in the Long Jump and sophomore Zack Henke took fifth in the Discus to lead the Warriors. Potter-Dix senior Terell Gray took fifth place in the Shot Put for the Coyotes.

For the girls, Sidney sophomore Reagan Biesecker won the Shot Put with a throw of 32' 01.50", while sophomore Delanie Namuth placed second in the Discus and fourth in the Shot Put. Freshman Brynna Ross placed second in the Pole Vault, junior Jaecee Drapal placed fifth in the 3200 meters, and freshman Isabella Melino-Butts placed fifth in the 100 meter Hurdles. Sophomore Haley Williamson placed sixth in the Pole Vault, sophomore Elly Weimer placed sixth in the Triple Jump, and the 4x100 meter Relay Team took fourth to round out the Sidney scoring.

Creek Valley junior Caitlyn Mueller placed third in the 100 meter Hurdles, fourth in the 300 meter Hurdles, and fifth in the Triple Jump. Junior Chloe Stupka placed fourth in the Triple Jump and fifth in the Long Jump, junior Catie Koenen placed third in the Discus, senior Haylle Sitzman placed fourth in the Pole Vault, sophomore KK Fletcher placed sixth in the High Jump, and the 4x100 meter Realy Team took second place.

Leyton junior Madelyn Watchorn won the 100 meter Hurdles with a time of 16.83, while senior Destinee Henke placed fourth in the 800 meters and senior Danielle Higgins placed fourth in the 1600 meters. Senior Mariah Draper placed fourth in the Discus and fifth in the Shot Put, and the 4x400 Relay Team took fifth place to round out the Warrior's scoring.

Potter-Dix senior Michaela Roter placed fourth in the 3200 meters, senior December Wright placed fifth in the Pole Vault, and senior Ciera George placed sixth in the Long Jump for the Coyotes.
