15 Graduate from Peetz on Mother's Day

Mother's Day in Peetz had an even greater significance this year as Peetz High School graduated fifteen seniors in a ceremony filled with celebrations, tears, and promise for the future. After the Eighth Grade Processional welcoming incoming freshman as the Class of 2023, senior Dominick Naegele delivered the Invocation and Principal Dustin Seger presented the diplomas to the eight graders.

The High School Commence-ment Ceremony followed, with the lighting of the candles and the processional of the Class of 2019. Class Salutatorian Nicole Burmester then delivered her address, trying her best to hold back tears as she recounted how she was the "new kid" at Peetz just a few years ago, and how her classmates went out of their way to make her feel welcome and part of the community. Valedictorian Sarah Davis then gave her remarks, filled with stories about each of the members of the class and the incredibly strong bonds and loyalty each of the members of the Class of 2019 have for one another.

Next was the Parent Dedication, where each of the graduates handed out sunflowers to members of their families and took a moment to thank and honor the people who had supported them throughout their formative years. After a slide show highlighting each graduate from infancy into young adulthood, the diplomas were awarded to the graduates by Board President Brad Segelke. Segelke remarked that the Class of 2019 had been awarded over one hundred ninety thousand dollars in scholarship money from various groups, organizations, and individuals dedicated to the continuing education of the Peetz graduates. from After the Benediction by senior Kylie Howell, the graduates then departed the ceremony to the tune of their class song, "Africa" by Toto.
