Touchstone Award Winners Announced

Each year, through the Touchstone Award Program, area schools are able to recognize and award two high school students for outstanding performance. Wheat Belt Public Power District recently announced the winners for the 2018-2019 school year. On behalf of Wheat Belt and the students, the schools have received a monetary award to be used at their discretion for special purchases of books, software, equipment, etc. The students have received gift cards, a certificate and their names have been engraved on a plaque, which remains at the school.

The program has two divisions, Scholastic and Athletic. Selections are in alignment with the “Touchstone Energy Partner” principles and values of accountability, integrity, teamwork and commitment to excellence.

Bridgeport: Tiana Rice (S) and Karissa Benavides (A)

Creek Valley: Cooper Reichman (S) and Sam Grabowski (A)

Garden County: Carmen Arceo-Fenn (S) and Connor McCord (A)

Leyton: Janessa Carley (S) and Danielle Higgins (A)

Sidney: Allison Nesbitt (S) and Arik Doty (A)
