Gwen R. Ohnesorg - Obituary

Gwen R. Ohnesorg, age 63 of Chappell, NE and former Sidney resident went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 8, 2019 in Aurora, CO.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 15th in the Evangelical Free Church in Sidney with Pastor Doug Birky and Pastor Rod Wright officiating. Burial followed in the Chappell Cemetery. Friends were encouraged to stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel to sign Gwen's register book and drop off condolences for the family.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC was in charge of Gwen's care and funeral arrangements.

Gwen Rae (Graesser) Ohnesorg, the daughter of Kenneth and Elizabeth (Offutt) Graesser, was born on September 11, 1955 in Lincoln, NE. She graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School.

On September 23, 1978 Gwen was united in marriage to Roger J. Ohnesorg in Lincoln, NE. In November 1990, they moved to Sidney, NE and then to Chappell, NE in November 2010. She invested her life into children's church ministries, ladies Bible studies, and international short-term mission trips. All three sons were homeschooled by her from kindergarten through 12th grade. Her hobbies included playing her flute, artistic endeavors, and enjoying the outdoors.

Gwen is survived by her husband Roger of Chappell, NE; (3) sons, Wayne Ohnesorg and wife Gina of Norfolk, NE, Ross Ohnesorg and wife Julie of Sidney, NE and Scott Ohnesorg and wife Holly of Spokane, WA; (2) sisters, Marie Trayer and husband John of Roca, NE and Louise Travers and husband Terry of Omaha, NE; (1) sister-in-law, Kaylynn Perez and husband Dio of Omaha; (2) nieces, Cora Espinoza of Omaha and Loree Reimers of Omaha; (9) grandchildren, Abigail, Evelynn, Garrett, Tobias, Ilsa, Ezra, Emma, Arie, and Anna.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents: Kenneth and Elizabeth Graesser.
