Coyotes Grab First Win Against Storm

Potter-Dix’s Coyote basketball team earned their first win of the new season when they hosted the Creek Valley Storm on Thursday.

The Coyotes were able to get the jump on the Storm early, building a 12-to-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. Creek Valley battled back in the second, but the coyotes were able to match the visitors point for point to go into the half up by six. Potter-Dix then had a strong third quarter, and then the Storm tried to come back in the fourth but the coyotes lead was too much, and the Potter-Dix boys earned their first win of the year with a 46-to-41 final score.

Senior Terell Gray and freshman Luke Kasten both scored twelve points in the win, while sophomore Anthony Tovar notched 11 points. Gray was dominant under the boards, grabbing 14 total rebounds while Tovar had three blocks in the victory.

The Coyotes travel on Thursday to take on the Leyton Warriors, then to Iliff, Colo., on Friday to face the Caliche Buffaloes.
