Lady Coyotes Searching for First Win

Potter-Dix's Lady Coyote basketball team has a new head coach in Garrett Stricklin, and it will take some time for the team to revamp and get some wins.

The Lady Coyotes hosted Creek Valley on Thursday, and after playing the Lady Storm tight for the first few minutes, Creek Valley was able to take advantage of Potter-Dix turnovers and opened an 18-to-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.

But the Lady Strom's defense proved too tough for the Lady Coyotes, limiting the girls to single digit scores in each quarter, and the Potter-Dix squad came out on the wrong end of a 42-to-23 final score.

The Lady Coyotes went on the road Saturday to face off against the Paxton Lady Tigers and again got off to a slow start, and were shut out in the second period to go into the half down 22-to-6. Potter-Dix had a better second half scoring, but it was too little to overcome the Paxton lead, and the Lady Coyotes fell by a final of 50-to-28.

Potter-Dix was scheduled to travel to Leyton on Tuesday to face the Lady Warriors and then to Caliche in Iliff, Colo., to face the Lady Buffaloes on Thursday.
