King's Daughters Conducts Annual Food Distribution

Volunteers get ready to unload trucks of food to be boxed for the King's Daughters food distribution Friday morning. This year 132 baskets were donated for 438 people. Donations were from private individuals. Kings Daughters members purchased food with the donations from Sonny's and Safeway. The project also received support from the City's street department. "Without them we couldn't do this," said King's Daughters member Kim Phillips. The program was also supported this year by Sidney High School wrestlers who volunteered to move food. Each box contains a ham, box(s) scalloped or au gratin potatoes, vegetable, sweet potatoes, margarine, eggs, milk, bread, pies, and fresh fruit.
